I've heard somewhere that windsurfing on Moulting Lagoon is not allowed - does anyone have any details on this? Saw some kiters there today and it looks awesome for freestyle! Can't find anything online that suggests it's not allowed...

My understanding is that National Parks believes the birds could do without the disruption I think it may be an important breeding area. You could always phone them and ask if that activity is ok or if it is dependent on the time of year.

I would encourage you to sail as much as possible and disturb the ducks as much as possible, between now and June 8...end of duck season!! Just don't get shot!

I sailed there regularly a few years back only to be told by parks I wasn't allowed and it's documented in the Moulting Lagoon management plan online. The next time I got caught the parks bloke made me wait until his boss came for a full on interview
the next time I went about 2 years ago it was full of weed and I haven't been back
Legal advice told me that there is no set penalty for windsurfing there so they can't fine you or anything.
I'm keen to give it another go with a good weed fin
