I fear it's going to be a hot but calm day. The forecast doesn't look incredibly enticing for Marion, 10-15knots and NNW. I busted my big boom in a catapult last time I was at Marion and now the biggest sail I can rig is 6.5m :-(

It was an almighty catapult, the most violent I've had (I guess the boom felt that way about it too). Part of the learning curve of moving the footstraps to the outboard position -- I involuntarily caught my heels in the water and came to an abrupt stop at 25 knots... I never thought about how a boom would break but was interested to see that it bends upwards :-).

Dont forget Cremorne lagoon can be sailed in a northerly if Marion does not happen.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to keep an eye on the wind and go to Cremorne if it looks possible. Marion Bay is just a bit too far for me if its marginal.

I think that is the plan, just keep an eye on the forecast and see what happens. From looking at the maps it may be to NW for Marion anyway..

It's high tide around lunchtime both days so that helps with spot options
