Thinking of up north this weekend unless southern forecast improves.
Only place where the forecast is consistant.
I will go up for a day or overnighter
Just can't get enough of the sensation.!! '

I don't think i have gear small enough for Sundays forecast at bell bouy. Would bakers be an option? At least 5-10knts less. Just more gusty.

Saturday afternoon at Bell Buoy
Sunday Bakers
By the time everyone rolls up to Bakers the wind should be generally west.
That's about dead cross to slightly cross off hey Al?

Bakers seems to run to its own schedule, sometimes its gold and sometimes not. I guess if we get there early enough then it should be ok.

From the last year experience it seems that Bakers Beach works best with the WNW wind, cross-shore near the point. Westerly is still good, but a bit more gusty on the inside. With the wind shifting more to SW, it gets even more patchy. While the wind is lighter than at the Bell Buoy, on a good WNW forecast the conditions always seemed to be very good, we always got the wind as per forecast.
With the forecast as it is, it should be a very good day, probably 4.0 sail and overhead, relatively clean waves.

It is such a shame that I am going to Hawaii on Sunday, flying at noon, so there is a small chance for a very early morning sail for me.

Less shrinkage for ant when sailing next to greenie than the 30c water in Hawaii

Carlton looking OK for weekend? NW wind 15+ knots and 1.5m swell for Sat. Sunday has smaller swell but 20 knots from late am. I think I'll skip 6 hours in a car and sail down south instead. Probably not as epic as the north coast.

w/nw both days at Carlton, Bruny would also be good if you want some nicer/bigger waves Saturday.

Hi Tassie,

I am thinking of heading over with my freewave gear.

Is this a good spot?

4.5 - 5.7 sails?

Cheers,

Paul.

Far out Paul! Nice accom. Wanna be careful. You might end up with a whole bunch of freeloaders rolling up to crash for the night.

Marty take your southern rubbish talk elsewhere. This is about sailing in proper waves and wind.

The north is firing. Sailing from Saturday midday til the arms fall off at Bell Buoy. Sunday just hanging on will cause the arms to fall off. About bloody time!

Ok Hamish. What was the coast like? have your arms fallen off?
Carlton had some nice sets come through. Just had to time it right when the gusts came

There were plenty of rotations happening. Both forward and back. Wind was ok. All on 4.5 sails. We are spoilt enough to say it could have been better. Wind could have been more consistent and the waves could have been bigger. All in all though a great day. Arms are certainly feeling it. Tomorrow is still looking great as well.
