Hi everyone, ok I have just heard back from the Sandy Bay Regatta Association.
They are going to put up $300 cash, same as last year.
1st place = $150
2nd place = $100
3rd place = $50
4th place =$25 (part of entry fee money)
Lucky door prize, drawn out of hat (left over entry fee money).
Plus our very own R uss is trying to get some more prizes.
Come on everyone and turn up next Wed the 26th Jan. The breifing is at 2pm
and we will start at 3pm. Can anyone organise a rescue boat, I was thinking the zodiac from the SBSC. Any ideas on that one.
Just so everyone knows you don't have to be a s....hot sailor to enter, this is a fun event and anyone can enter.
Thanks Steve for organising this, I went in last year, had a ball and would have won if everyone else didn't cheat
[}:)].
Looking forward to the beer and pies. I heard Morgan Wallace will be back this year cos he wants to hand out the prizes
Easty, so sorry you can't make it, I'll beat you on default ![]()

Yeah thats a bit of a funny one Easty. Technically they are not the sponsor, nor is it called the KA Sails Dash for Cash. It used to be called that when they were sponsoring it a few years ago. Then SHQ sponsored it for about 3 years and then Auswind (Starboard/Severne) sponsored it last year. I am wondering if we should call it just the Dash for Cash. Or who ever sponsors the biggest prize we use their name, may be a bit late this year. Any thoughts on that one guys.
Houston Salad Dash for Cash $10000 first plce, $5000 second place $2000 third place, all entrants that complete get $500![]()
Windgunity Sailboards Australia
Have donated CD's as prizes for the event, not sure how many yet they are in the post to us.
Big thanks Windgenuity
Russ

3rd prize very rotten lettuce
Unforunately I am unable to compete as I will be is Brissy packing up all the prizes which is a shame cos I'd probably win but I will nominate Morgan to make the presentations ![]()

... only if they're sailing windsurfers!!
It's always been a windsurfer dash-for-cash, so no paddle boats, lasers, catamarans, etc, but perhaps kites could be included to increase participation? If we did, you could potentially make it anything non-motorised to include all of the above (and more)?
Well done everyone that was a pretty good show even though I missed the action
Thanks Steve for a great event and very fitting you came 1st although 20 other competitors reckon you rigged it.
Special metion has to go to Fos for the 2nd year in a row, you obviously didn't know where the buoy was, it wasn't the other side of the bridge !!!! ![]()

Well done Steve (the allrounder), you could get some new moves from your kiting vid. All good fun yet again.
