I'm flying Virgin and paying for two extra two bags ($45 each, each way, so $180). Normal baggage can weigh up to 23kg and overweight baggage up to 32kg (you pay for this at check-in - an additional $45 if over 23kg). The Boeing 737's can take baggage up to 3m in length. I've done a trial pack of one board, 3 sails, 2 masts and a boom and each bag weighs exactly 23.0kg! ![]()

Qantas $50 per windsurf bag. I've been ripped off!! $5 extra each bag.
But had some Qantas frequent flyer points to use up so got the flight cheaper.
Quantas is $50 a bag if you book online. $100 at the airport.
Virgin is $45 online but can only book 2 bags online. $90 at airport for each bag over the 2 online bags.
Going qantas as I have 3 extra bags...... but somehow booked and paid for 4
