Ok the new season is coming and most of us keen windsurfers are looking forward to taking it up to a higher speed level in 2011-12
So let's look at cool ideas for rewards for Tassie speed seekers efforts, let's see if we can generate some local support for adding to the prizes I will offer below

Any ideas???

Let's start thinking
GPS Tassie Speed Seekers 2011-2012 prizes
Prize 1 longest distance between now and March 2012 1 carton of beer!! From Russ
Prize 2 fastest alpha between now and March 2012 1 carton of beer!! From Russ
Prize 3 Fastest peak speed at Pond Cremorne lagoon 6 pack from Russ
Prize 4 Fastest peak speed at Dorans Road 6 pack From Russ
Prize 5 Fastest peak speed Port Sorell 6 pack From Russ
Prize 6 Overall fastest peak speed Tassie Speed Sekers carton of beer From Russ
Prize 7 most improved sailor 6 pack From Russ

Please feel free to add to the prize pool.
hope I win something

This is going to be big!!!!!

Cheers Russ

Brilliant idea Russ. So will a distance record ect count if the best in Tassie is done outer state? or not?.

Maybe we should Have a Tassie speed week...Be situated in Stanley, then we have all wind directions covered for example, Northerly and easterly winds at Stanley,South west winds at Montagu and west north west at Henty River all not far from Stanley.Any way just a thought.

For me if you are a Tassie Speed Seeker then where you get your record in the world for me is ok.
As long as the beer is consumed in Tassie

Cheers Russ
P.s anyone can come up with new categories and provide a prize.
Or add prizes to my ones

I will start asking Windgenuity and Ka to give a prize or two as well.

Great idea Russ, might be a problem providing alcohol to minors though!

Things like most improved are important, as a majority of sailors will never challenge for the fastest speeds, so good thinking there.

Hi easty long time no see mate.

Fastest on a noncam sail?
Fastest on a wave board and non cam sail?

Minors give beer to their fathers if they win

My boys could be a long shot this year but we do have a kids rig and board so look out.

- Yeah been busy working. Also only just getting over my stuffed elbow tendon, so even if I wasn't busy I probably wouldn't have been sailing. Finished up the work thing yesterday, so you'll probably see me around a bit more, if I can remember how to rig up!

This is all sounding pretty fun ...

So end of March 2012 is the closing date?

I'll donate a whole salmon (3-4 kg) for fastest NM.

Hi Dave,
You make the call on finish date and I will bring the beer. March feels like the end of the season to me?

Pizza and salmon worth fighting for, I will need to get the formula out now Steve.

cheers Russ

I think fastest speed on conventional gear. i.e freestyle wave, wave, freestyle with soft sail. no top end freerides or cambered sails.

prize.. 20 % off anything you want

Ok I've created a spread sheet to keep track of whos in the leed. I'll do my best to keep it up to date and i'll post an update at the end of each month. It would be good if people could keep an eye on it and make sure I dont miss anyones sessions.

Let me know if theres any changes/additions etc.

It's actually 5 cans Turkey for the 1 HOUR, sorry!

Hi Kaleb, can you change mine to 2x large pizzas, large coke and garlic bread. Just thought Dave is probably going to win that one and one large pizza wont be enough

Hey this is really cool, well done Russ, great idea. I will see if Auswind want to give me some freebies for this. Good work on the spread sheet Kaleb and I wasnt joking in my last post but I dont know if you have enough room to fit that on. Hey maybe we should make it you have to be at Stanley to recieve these prizes. Oh s**t then I wont be able to win any. On second thoughts I will be there.

Looks like a few changes to be made, I'll fix them up tomorrow when I get to work.
I made an error, Damos doing one prize for conventional gear and I recon Houston should cover the No Cam prize seeing as hes a lover of camless sails. Maybe a 2 week all expenses paid trip to Gnaraloo would be an approprite prize.

And I think there should be a prize awarded to all the female sailors for putting up with so many males!
