For those that were interested sailed at a place called Wrinklers Lagoon, according to Iceman. Sounds like the perfect place for ye old timer... Solid 20-25 knots gusting a little bit more. Small wave slop/chop but a couple of big sets coming through for some nice wave riding. After a day or so wind from this direction the swell and a solid NE would be great just under Shelly Point. So many options for that forecast, not enough time in the day to sail them all!!!

There are some great beaches around the area here and it is a pity there aren't more sailors around. I've seen some kitesurfers out from Scamander but usually there isn't anyone else around. If anyone is thinking of coming up for a holiday over Christmas, don't forget your gear, should be some great cruising weather with the sea-breezes coming in.
Hamish, sorry I missed you on the beach, will have to catch up next time.

hi Iceman, i will definately be at Akaroa for a few weeks from around boxing day.Im aiming at getting lots of short sails in (#3 baby due this week so wont be able to do big days). Just gotta get a new mast (still). Youve been getting some good runs in from what ive seen (bloody frustrating watching windsurfing while u work).
If any one is headed to st helens in early Jan feel free to drop in for a brew or a beer. will keep an eye on these forums; cheers

That's because I was in Launceston. Would of been out otherwise. Took the missus to check out some new cars. But after looking at Corollas, Hondas, Mazdas and Subarus we have decided to keep the old one.
Sorry to upset you Jason but you know work is the scourge of the sailing man. Had some great conditions in the northerlies up in the western part of the bay. Even had some spectators stopping to watch. Luckily I didn't embarrass myself.

I will probably run into you then. Mate of mine will be there more often, but it is such a great place to sail!!
