I am driving from Launnie to Hobart on Friday, so I am thinking about leaving earlier and taking a detour via East Coast to have a sail ... maybe Kelvedon, or somewhere around .... Should be a nice southerly in the arvo ...
Anyone from the south thinking about sailing??
That's not a bad forecast for Kelvo if you're going over and after a wave that would be the best bet. I might be able to get up there in the arvo
Forecast looking good; wind turning in the morning- 20-30 Knot southerly 2-3m swell. Kelvendon should be working. Don't go too deep on the point like I did if you don't want a close look at the rocks!
I intend to go to Kelvo late am arrival but will have a look at real time Maria Is report in morning before making the drive.

Hey Luka
I'm at Swansea. The boys have been surfing Rubbish Tip all week but it has really settled down today. If you get a good Southerly blow in the morning it could be on again.
Cheers
Steve
Forecast still looks good from 10 am onwards, 25 to 30 knots wind and some swell ... I will try to be at Kelvedon before noon.
Unless the forecast drops I'll be there 2.30...... thees is tha set up we've bin lookin for is goin ta be crankin....... well maybe
Winds Southwesterly 20 to 30 knots tending southerly 25 to 30 knots during the morning.
Seas 2 to 3 metres.
Swell South to southwesterly 2 to 3 metres, increasing to 3 to 5 metres around midday
Now if that forecast holds up we'll have something to brag about.............................Damo, Tim, Buzzy????? if that scares you just come up and take pics
It's blowing already!! I'll be around until early afternoon to take some pics if anyone can be here by then.
Well that's a sweet spot.......... swell not big................. wind not strong................... but still the sets were head high some over if you waited. Looks a bit scary as you have to go deep to get the big ones and it takes a bit to get the feel of the place but the more we sail it the better it feels.........................and a stones throw from town
What was the wind like on the Bar?...............interesting to compare it to Kelvo (as we locals call it), we had the usual inconsistent east coast ranging from 10-20kts out the back if you're unlucky to fall off at the boat shed it was a swim into the beach. Also we could have done with more swell.
Bar consistent 20 knots and head high for 2 hours
No No no ..... ,, gusty AND LOTS OF SWIMMING, when it turned offshore after first 10 minutes in the water.
