Some photos from East Beach on Sunday. The wind had been around 30 to 35 kts all day and the swell slowly built up. Jason and I went around to East around 4pm to sail on the low tide. The cross offshore was blowing some of the power out of the waves and top turns were a little tricky at times but this is almost as good as East Beach gets.
Hey Al, just curious, any comments from the conventional surfers? They would have to be jealous wouldn't they?
Nice photos it was really windy at Dorans lauderdale on sunday i was over powered on my 4.2 were abouts is east beach? looks great
Fantastic Al, we had a brilliant session at Park Beach Sunday...........5-30 knots gusty as sh... swell crankin up to half a foot and still had fun.....we must be desparate. You guys are spoilt up there ![]()
It was a great little session Al, nice to get out in the surf after getting bounced around in the chop at Lagoon Bay. A big thanks to Jill for taking the pics, some very nice shots in there. It's difficult to find someone willing to stand around in 30 odd knots and take photos.
I seem to remember a few of us down south would regularly travel to Low Head/Bell Buoy for a session. One thing you could be sure of was that if there was wind you also had swell unlike Carlton etc when the swell came the day after.
A classic example was this week when the points were working on monday following sundays wind.
