We will be having a fun race day at the Deviot Sailing club on the Sat.7th of Feb. (Non WT event.) The idea behind this was to join in on some of their races on our windsurfers. The Deviot Sailing Club do mostly dingies and Cats and are keen to get some kind of sailboard presence. If you have an old long board or anything else that would make it around a sailing course then bring it along. Some of us have old raceboards which are ideal and a lot of fun. Beers afterwards in the clubhouse. Briefing is about 11am

Not many responses yet, so looks like I'm in with a 50% chance of winning.

I'll put the beers on the ice when I get back to shore, give them time to get cold for everyone else.

The annual ROAD TRIP is also this week, if Johnny and I are anywhere near Deviot on Saturday we will be there.

I gave the longboard a birthday today,.... ready to go. The Beer will be warm but I prefer BEAM anyways...

It's trash talk like this that will get the road trip cancelled, and the painful Saturday morning journey back to Deviot a real possibility!!

Should be a lot of fun...NE wind direction forecast with good chance of a seabreeze later. Racing will start about 1-1.30 after lunch and how many races depends on conditions. Enrty is $7.00 and a PDF is required.

We had 6 starters today with a light NW breeze of 6-8knts The racing was quite close at times battling the currents and back eddies making for challenging sailing. Sails ranged from 7.5m to 8.5m and all were out on course boards from the 90"s. They are still a lot of fun to sail and maybe with formula sails would be even better. 3 Heats were run of about 45min. duration with both upwind and downwind legs.
Results:
Heat 1: Jason, Paul, Clarence, Al, Ben, Johnny(Dnf)
Heat 2: Jason, Al, Paul, Clarence,
Heat 3: Paul, Clarence, Al, Ben, Johnny(Dnf)
Thanks to everyone for participating, Steve for the photo's and the deviot sailing club for holding the race
Hopefully we can do this again in the future and get a few more to participate

Looks like fantastic racing! If you guys wanted to do some more, we have the Crown Series on in a week today at Bellerive! The more people we get the better it'll be...
