There will probably be some sailing at Bell Buoy or East on Saturday for those that like their gravy with lumps. See you all there.
There were plenty of windsurfers around Low Head on Saturday keen to have some fun in the forecast 30 to 40 knot conditions and Huey didn't disappoint. Early in the day it was around 30 to 38 knots and built up to 35 to 44 knots from the WNW.
One of the first people at the beach was Greenie who hasn't sailed much for around ten years but sailed like he hasn't been away. Jeff sailed early and rigged a 4.5 along with Jason who does own a 4.0 but wanted to power through the “lulls” I guess. I arrived at 2pm and did a few minutes of filming but the swell was disappearing with the rising tide.
Props to Ben who sailed the hell chop at lagoon on a 5.0 and Adam and James who had a late sail at “The Cove” in Georgetown. Adam rigged a 5.7!!!!!! and James sailed a 2.0 (James is 9 so if you do the maths..... that's like me rigging a 6.5!!!! …..watch out Izaak and the other young guns)

We did see 2 sailers in the Cove on the way home... is there good wind there on a NW?, certainly looked like smoother water...

Yep that looks worth checking out... I am very interested in somewhere close thats a bit smoother to play in the epic 40knot plus days
Maybe Kelso Bay??
(on a full tide only) is probably the spot guys, which is sort of behind garden island. It's a good 700m run from inside Kelso Bay itself to Garden Island on pretty flat water.
Especially on a good NW(EDIT: Maybe better on a good NE too). Can get dirty air over the land and trees, but overall very very flat and safe. Lots of oysters on Garden Island itself though.
Yep I think your spot on there, I know Paul has found some flat water around there but I have never seen it myself..... YET
