Forecast looks great for a sail today. 21 C 20-30 kts N - NW. Got the gear in the car, might head out off Sandy Bay or is anyone going to Pittwater? Don't really want to sail there on my own in that lonely old car park, being a young wee lassie.

Definately go to Pittwater. High tide is around lunch time but get out on the water before that.
Only thing is Kaz, the 81 Slim might be a bit small but the river would probably be worse on that board. I have to work all week so won't be able to get out today or up North tomorrow/Fri.

Very gusty on river. Got small wave gear or slalom gear. Prob bit bouncy with slalom gear in river. Might checkout pittwater. Is gate still unlocked, anyone know?

Thinking of going to Greens Beach(low head) this afternoon for a wave sail. Winds still a bit light up here but expecting a bit more this afternoon.

Last time i was there it was unlocked, which was probably a month ago That's where i would go if i was you, as you dont have to worry to much about the tides as long as lows not reeeeeally low which i'm sure it wouldnt be.

Best direction is NW or NNW, if it has to much N in it it gets pretty bad short and sharp chop building up.

Sunny day, high tide and blowing a Northerly i would launch from 5 mile This will be a good summer spot

Except the carparks a bit lonely for a female. Last time I did an absolutely stupid thing and gave a guy a lift from there cause he's locked his keys in his rental car. It was all ok but you just never know. Think I'll take my sisters big fat lazy friendly labrador with me, he'll scare them off

Kaz - I will be sailing but thought Dorans would be ok as forecast is for NW from about midday when it strengthens for the arvo. It is swinging around there at present. I will be heading off around 12:30. Derwent is a lessor choice if it does go NW as it would be gusty.
I think you have to lift the gate up at the end to clear the latch at the causeway. Not been to 5 mile but it sounds easier to launch than south causeway where you have to go down narrow steps thru bushes etc.

Some blokes aww wierdo's. At pittwater, gate is unlocked, nice northerly, should be able to get some speeds runs as it swings around. Dorans crap in this direction, pete you should know that!

I wouldn't go to Dorans if i had the choice, i just think it will have to much N in it and it will be sh$t and gusty. I would go to pitwater if it were me, easy to get down the stairs, just take board and sail down Separately. I got a 7.1 and 135 ltr board down no worries at all.

Where are you, better change down to the 5.4, hmmm maybe smaller. I have been working in Lindersfarne all morning and it's been so windy here. Hobart Airport gusting up to 40 knots at 12.30pm, don't see that very often.

I don't think a bit fat lazy Lab is going to protect you. Maybe you need to hire a Pit Bull or Rotty.

Not if the guys got a knife!! I'ld probably achieve more from running away than trying to wrestle a bloke.
Wind was gusty, had to sit on the rocks up the other end of the causeway for a while, couldn't even get up on the board at one stage. Then it settled down, Pete Freeman & son turned up. Stayed out with them for a while and got a bit bored running up and down the causeway so called it a day.
