Well long story short we had driven 1000km yesterday and we were 200km out from Adelaide. The clutch in dads basically brand new Navara ****ed up. so we got taken back to port Augusta where we have just got a new navara to drive around for a week or so. As parts 3 days away then they have to pull the whole clutch system out and replace the lot or something like that. Anyway just about to leave the Nissan dealer in port Augusta and go to hammas until ours is fixed. We are meant to be on the boat Monday, but no way that's going to happen..at least the forecast looks epic for lake George.

Don't remind me of Nissans, they always breakdown on road trips & they love blowing their engines too

I know of 2 other people with recent model Navaras who have had major clutch problems, and talking about it with others it is apparently a fairly common problem.
Hope things get better

Guy at works got a 12 month old navara. Once a week it just stops! He has to let it sit for about 15 minutes, then it starts again. Service guys have no idea, they've had it about 6 times and cant get to the bottom of it.

Ah, its all just part of the experience of a road trip. The nullabor and west aus can take there toll on your vehicle.
i have had a oil pump blow at port Pirie- follow by eventual complete engine blown at Denholm ( Monkey Mia), had to spend a week there waiting for a new block.
Hit a big kangaroo at Norseman that ripped half the front end to bits! i.e bullbar bent, tie rods bent, exhaust broken ay manifold!. Could smell cooked roo! all the way to perth.
Heading into Useless Loop put a hole in the petrol tank 150km from no where down a dirt road and lost our juice..........
the list goes on...

Need a good ole sturdy Zeffa ute, I drove one over the Nullabor back in 1970 when it was still a dirt road from Kalgoolie to Port August....bought it for 60 bucks which was a ripoff cos it had no brakes, no tread on the tyres and not much else. Cops got us at Euclla and wouldn't let us drive til we fixed the brakes
Where's the wind?

Bummer about the Navara guys, what a sh#t!! Hope you end up getting back without any other issues. I recall borrowing an unlicensed Hiace van off Steve in WA and driving it to Monkey Mia. Had to buy a new battery for it first. Had no brakes, tyres were bald and radiator needed continually filling, but got us there and back.
