The 2021 State Windsurfer Titles will be held on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th March 2021. The Notice of Race will follow soon however a brief summary of the weekend looks a bit like this:
Saturday 13th March - Tamar Yacht Club - Briefing 12.00pm for afternoon course racing.
Saturday 13th March Pizza night at Gill & Al's (Low Head) - BYO toppings and drinks
Sunday 14th March - Fun Racing at Low Head (there was a discussion of freestyle/marathon/slalom)
Save the date, more details to follow. The usual requirement of being a member of a sailing club (Tamar will offer a SailPass/temporary membership option); have Third Party Liability via becoming an Affiliate member of Windsurfing Tas; if sailing a "Windsurfer" board you also need to be a member of WCAA.
Please call Jo on 0428 248 168 if you have any queries.

Pizza night will kick off at 6:30pm at 260 Low head road on Saturday Night.
( but for those who want to squeeze the most out of daylight sailing hours the pizza oven stays warm for many hours )
The tradition is for BYO drinks and a small selection of toppings and Alan and I will make the bases and preheat the wood oven.
Also some indication of numbers would be great so I can calculate the number of bases to prepare.
Cheers Gill

The wind is happening on the weekend however it is always a lot less windy at the yacht club than on the coast. This is because the westerly always follows the coast and not the river as much. I would expect the river to be half the strength of the Low head forecast. On Sunday we always have the option of running a race in Georgetown where it less windy than lagoon but I think it will probably be fine at Lagoon.
Just to clarify the racing is a Beauty point Tamar yacht club not in town.
I understand some were confused about this. Cheers Gill
Exciting conditions for the marathon event on Sunday and some very tight turns around the top marker as captured by Sanden.

Looks like it was a great weekend had by all, a big thank you to all those that helped put the regatta together, especially Al and Gill for hosting Saturday night and Al for taking on the State duties! Thank you ![]()
PS - hopefully someone has remember to pack up the banners?
