I know this is a busy time of year but this is a reminder to become a member for 2015-2016.
Membership runs from June to June not from Stanley weekend to Stanley weekend.

Your membership covers insurance for participation in both events and competitions.
It insures you at these events and is required to hire and use the Tas windsurfing equipment.

Membership numbers at this point are extremely low with a total of 9 members.

As there have been problems with electronically sending the membership form, a scanned PDf is the best way to go.

I reckon when the wind does it's part on competition days members will grow. So far it has been very cruel

This is the problem, waiting for competition days to get membership numbers up.

About 10-15 years ago the only members of WT were those doing the state slalom /racing scene and a few who entered a wave event.
There does not appear to be as much enthusiasm about WT contests as back then.
With the gps challenge a lot of people are not joining WT now as they can have there own contest without membership.
Most sailors in Tassie are recreational and feel they get nothing out of the membership, fair enough .
Wave sailing events and slalom events just are not happening, so there is no Membership coming through.

The big pull for WT really has been the Huge success of learners having to join WT to hire the gear.. Sad fact, but if it were not for the learner boards i think the numbers would be very low even though we have quite a lot of regular sailors in Tasmania.
So all windsurfers in tas take, advantage if the clubs learner boards.
If you want to.teach family or friends, pay your social membership and $50 per week to access modern Starboard learner boards with matching user friendly rigs. WT also has kids rigs that you can hire.

It's surprising the organised WT activity is so low. The Committee meets every Friday evening!!!

But it seems as if the hire boards are not in use at the moment ( maybe the water is to cold?) because there are no membership forms from any extra people outside the nine members, who I don't think have been using the hire boards.

Only three on the list..... On the bright side, that's 3 more than the NT or ACT!!!!

The members from hire boards usually start to come in once the weather is nicer.
I dont think we have any hire boards out down south.

How can we make becoming a member more appealing ?. A stronger club atmosphere may help. A social member option for those who don't sail in any competitions or hire any of the gear but like to be part of the social club sailing days ? A membership option with a funky windsurfing t-shirt.?...... and obviously committee members need to be members.

I think.the the. T shirt idea, or something for your membership is a,good idea.
A membership the goes for one year from any date would, attract a lot more people, much.like other clubs do.
Yes I am.slack at paying my membership on.time.
Better put that on.the to do list.
