Overdrive r7 and reflex 7 have finally appered...

www.facebook.com/SeverneSailsUK/photos/pcb.708365215965625/708365072632306/?type=3&theater

lack of logos and print especially on the luff make them look like pre-production models (in fact they may actually be...)

minimal design is great. They have changed mast pocket and made it wider with deeper profile (no more stabilizator technology panel) and add more loose leach so the sails are more powerful and faster. Again 8 battens on smaller sizes. Can't wait to see video from Ben Severne's presentation.

I believe as Ben said since prototypes seem to always work better than production sails therefore trying to keep the latter as close to the former might explain the minimal look

yes, it would be interesting to compare R6 & R7 for weight reduction although I didn't find R6 particularly heavy when sailing

Hope they have made the cutout longer. As a short arse ( 5'5") I have to run my boom at the bottom of the cutout so I can't put it down when overpowered etc. I'm an overdrive fan but I just got a Naish bullit and wow! I can actually move the boom up and down if I need to ! ( Their cutout is much deeper).

I'm a fan of Severne sails, especially since they changed to the blood red colour that looks so good in all the photos, but not sure this is going to be attractive compared to all the cool coloured sails on the market?
I mean that transparent sails is not really helping to make out sport more interesting or make Severne sails stand out...

I don't know any other sport in the world that would try to make it's products invisible?
Sure they will be fast though....Hopefully will get to test some soon..

Cheers

Nice Is the rashie on to get you in the mood?

That's a damn big luff pocket. Very deep profile and possibly more twist?

Also how is it you have new sails and it's going to blow in a couple days. How does that work? Usually new gear means no wind!

Nice one Vandoman.

Yep Deeper Profile and more twist.
They are easier to downhaul as well.
Just need some wind now

Rig the Reflex 7 5.6 Today.

I'm in possession of one too, (8.6m). Love it- fast, stable and feels light in the hands. Note, check all the little loops holding the battens in place, three of mine were "unlooped" when I unpacked it.
