That orange medium is perforated R1DER. I have some if you want to have a crack with it. I also have another which is peel-ply and breather in one, which is blue. Infusion medium but good for simple bagging of wet layup, too. Let me know if you want to try it

Hey hows the board going ? Were on the downward slope to xmas now.

Well we've moved in and down sized to a garage until we can start building the house. It enough to get the board finished which i finally got onto last weekend the overlaps have been cut back ready for the inbox insertion and the sanding coats. So almost there.

Just need to find the blow torch for the innegra!

Lookin great Stuart. I definitely need to get those pads up to you and organise the decals pretty soon.

The board is now back moving with the first orange sanding coat on the deck and blocked back and the white sanding coat will go on the bottom this week.

I am getting excited now Stuart. It's gunna be a Killer combination for the windy stuff. Whacked the pads and decals in the post today.

Stuart nearly done Phil Carbon started the bigger one this week.

The board is coming out nice! Really like the look! What is that hole in the bottom right of the board?

Board is here and Stuart has done a beautiful job with the shape, the bottom is so fair and it is going to rip. Unfortunately the truck drive once again didn't like the shape a remodelled the tail this time. Repairing at the moment and will take some photos when done.

Maiden Voyage!!!!!

Generally when you get a brand new small board it brings about a month long wind drought, the curse of the new small board. It appears this one is blessed 4 days after it arrived it cranks, overpowered on a 4.7 was really 4.2 weather. I think the truck driver smashing the tail broke the hoodu.
So does it work???
Well all new boards take some getting used to but I felt pretty comfy on this straight away. My fears of it being too small were unfounded I reckon it is the right size for my weight as my smallest rough water board. The ride was smooth, the concaves plus the glass/ inegra layup is very forgiving in the chop so I will be able to drive it hard in the rough water. Its a pretty conservative design and I didn't expect any surprises and didn't get any. My negative issue was the centre fin. I have 2x10cms in the side and put in an old (brand new) 21 KA Wave fin in the rear. This fin has a very, very soft tip and it was letting go a lot, I need to try something stiffer and maybe a size bigger??? The setup felt very skatey, I am sure it would be great in real waves which is what this fin is designed for but I need a bit more of a solid feel in the harsh bay chop.
All in all pretty happy, just need more time on it to get it dialed in.

I will take some photos of the finished product later in the week.

Finally got some wild conditions on Port Phillip to shake it out at the extreme end. Heres a note I sent Stuart who built it

Hey Stuart, Got to use the Wave board yesterday in the wild conditions it was meant for. Gusting 35 knots, way , way overpowered on a 4.7, should have been on a 4.0 and it was washing machine rough.
<div>It was good, very composed, smooth ride. I finally have the fins sorted out and only span out a few times, multi fins are a challenge on the rough bay as they are short and come out of the water a lot. Have ended up with MUF 10 cm thrusters and a Black Projects Wave one 22 in the middle, seems a good balance

<div>If I did another I would add just 1 mm more tail rocker and probably lift the nose another 10mm. Narrow the tail behind the thrusters a bit and thin it out a whisker then pump a touch more volume under the front straps. Then it would absolutely rip but I am happy as it is.

<div>I just need to move the front straps into the front holes, the stance a bit slalomy and the board was really fast so was trying to slow it down at times.

<div>Spotti took it for a spin and liked it ( thats how windy it was , 120kg bloke on an 84.5 litre wave board!!!) and was quite impressed with the smooth ride and the speed. Agreed the straps needed to move as well.

<div>All in all good, this is going to be my go to board on the Bay once it is windy enough to be powered on a 5.3. I like it, good job..
