Masterblaster Freerace fins designed for max speed in rough less than idea water, slalom or freerace boards.
Recently bought a 34 and a 38 Masterblaster fin but with the lack of wind it's taken some time to test them.
Yesterday I finally got the 34 out for a good run using the 110 Patrik Slalom with my KA Race7.
The fin worked very well with this combo as most people that know me I nomaly just use BP Weed fins but thought I would shout myself some new fins as the BPs are now six and a half years old bought for my first trip to Lake George SA.
I also bought the Masterblasters thinking they would be good at my local spot Wellington Point Qld at mid tide to high tide in average chop.
I am a confest spin out king but yesterday session was unreal with no spin outs good fin drive and top speeds for the conditions.
I sail with a load of back foot pressure and straight ish legs which I find works for me but the fin just felt rock solid.
Yesterday's tide was rather low so the water was flat in close but out the back was a medium chop which didn't seem to bother the fin it gave me good lift to fly over the chop and tracked well after a bit of air of the lips of chop.
Going over the shallow reef was a lot of weed which is growing from the bottom to the the surface which is thick but the fin with some rake went through it without any tug that I could feel at low or high speeds.
I did have a whistle noise so I gave it a light sand at 45 to 50deg along the trailing edge as I hate that noise but now am happy to say it now has no whistle.
Yet to try the 38 and I also bought a Weed Weapon 34D/44L/45deg so once I use them I will add to this review but one on my teammate has got the same Weed Weapon and his very happy with it after about 4 session.

Glynn, that's interesting, a 34cm fin on a 70cm wide board and 7m sail is usually a bit small. Tribal recommend a 38cm for the same combo. I suspect your new 38cm would feel even better.

Picked up a 135 Rocket recently 250 x 72. Plan to Use 8.5-6.5m sails. Me 100kg. I've tried 43cm S1 evo. Seemed an ok match for 8.5m. Prices on Select are increasing. So I'm looking for alternatives. Be good to support local. What size would you guys recommend for 7.5 n 6.5 sails?

John, may sound a bit small but the fin works well very solid and early planning and im 90kgs

I tried my 38 Masterblaster yesterday on my Patrik110 with a KA Race7.7 it was perfect me 90kg

Yesterday I got a good one and a half hr session in flat water so I tested the Masterblaster 38 with my Patrik110 and my KA Race7.7 the fin gave me early planning in the light gusty sse ter and was also rock solid with no spin outs.
Being G10 is a must at Wellington Point with shallow rocky reefs, the fins have a solid tip so that's going to be handy as hitting is inevitable.
I did hit some weed yesterday which gave me a good tug and stood me up but thank god it released in time.
Very happy with the fins next I'll test the Weed Weapon.

I pushed very hard on the back foot which in light wind which normally causes spin outs but the hole light wind session I didn't spinout once which was fantastic.
After two hours of light wind I came in for lunch then went back out for another session and the wind had picked up plus the tide was in but still the water was rather flat, ended up doing 66kms and some 2 to 3k runs out into the bay and still no spin out I found the 51cm L x 34cm D x 50 Deg fin great out in the bay and sailing over some shallow reefs.
Top 2sec speed was 27.77kts in around 10 to 14kts in semi flatwater

Been using the same fin for about a month with 77 wide board and 7.7 sail. Can"t fault it!!
I am preferring it over the 40 cm pointer recommended for the board.

Weedweapon is 44deg

Yes correct. The rake measured at the base of the fin is 44 degrees for the 38 and increases very slightly each size down to a touch over 45 for the 20cm. Because the leading edge has a little bit of an accellerating curve the effective rake is a bit higher.
