Just a general call out / roll call

Who is up for the lake this coming holidays.

Camping at Elanda point- 'Jeffrey Point'
I'll be there and will bring beginners gear for anybody that wants a go.

I've got plenty of beginner gear - it's all I sail these days . Small sails for kids also :-)

Already got confirmations from Richard in Bundaberg
Denton is coming up early New Years - there'll be some BIC techno love going on

Time to test your new gear - thanks Santa

I'll be there the week leading up to Xmas and 10 days from just before New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve barn dance and talent quest is always a hoot!!

Cheers Jeff

Make sure no one moves into my spot Jeff. Put on you boom box and turn your hat backwards.

Not sure I've met you yet Peter?

Been looking forward to that 2003 Mistral PanAm you alluded to in a previous post joining us for some longboard fun with the old and very much loved race boards

cheers Jeff

Hey Jeff,
Hows the wind? I'm tossing up whether to do a day drip tomorrow, but it looks pretty light. What do you reckon?

Had a great afternoon on the water. Initially well powered on 8.5 but struggled to get going reliably as the wind dropped. My mates had more success getting onto plane. Need either more sail or better technique????

Use to be longboard weather but sailing fat short boards now

Wind???? Willy says light tomorrow with Wednesday looking better. - will update tomorrow

Cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff, what is the waterfront like at the moment, at a premium or is it still cheap. We are up on Wednesday.

No booking. First come, first served., but never seen anyone turned away because it is full.

May be busy at the waterfront, but heaps of space to find a spot further back. A lot of people leave the boards in front of where Jeff is, if you want to camp back a bit.
Can be quite blowy down the front if you aren't set up for it.

Great spot for families.

Real estate is a little tight on the water front but the properties are turning over quickly. We have the before Xmas crowd starting to leave and I did notice a few cars parked in spots being place holders

Your spot near the little inlet is free at moment

Park numbers are a little lower - heaps of space in the middle

Cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Thought of camping with my 5yo at Elanda Point for one or two days between Christmas and New Years. Can he have a go on the kids gear you brought along?

If wind is suitable for my sails (6.2 max) I'll bring my gear.

Thanks,
Stephan

Great

Smallest I have is 2 and 2.5 Ezzy. Not sure weight of 5 year old - so in gentle wind is certainly a go

Jane and kids will be here so I will set gear up in readiness

Cheers Jeff

'Dad get off the phone and rig my sail!'

Kids these days!!!!

Learner wind day. Spent most of morning in holiday sloth mode

Rigged up the learner gear for Jane and Max

Mates went out. 'NoosaNewbie' went out on his isonic 137 and got plenty of planning in. Otherwise it was longboards - not really powered up - more fast glides

Got to say a lightweight (75kg) on a big isonic with a 7.8 ezzy freeride sail is a devastatingly efficient early planing combination that I can't even get close too.

I spent afternoon doing my homework - big floaty board - tacks and gybes

This morning gentle breezes sitting around talking technique with the family - I'm in paradise

Max and Jane tacking footwork - mornings entertainment

Looking forward to sailing across from Boreen, heading up tomorrow. The toy trailer made the trip on Monday and the wind was not great that day, but Sunday onwards looks pretty cool.
