Long long time ago, before the rain before the snow

There was a place called SE Qld and from time to time did it sure blow

But it seemed the summer of O 15, strong winds were a distant dream

For on the BOM look out strong wind warnings were just a no show

Now before we all start to panic and scream

There is light at the end of the tunnel you know

All you need to do is book a flight, anywhere where there is water, do it now before you get old

WA, Maui, Philippines, Tassie, anywhere really is a better chance of finding a blow

Because currently, all my boards and sails are just covered in mould

Please somebody, somebody...sell all your gear, make the sacrifice

A 1030 High for a 3 day bender, would really be nice!

Just had 2 awesome days sailing up the lake, I know the graphs didn't show it, but it was a solid 15 knots each afternoon. Maybe 6-7 sailors out each day.

My hands are shredded, the lake is like a warm bucket of piss, I have never felt the water that hot before.

I don't mean to be greedy, but I need a minimum 18 knots
to get planing on my gear.

just put some food in a cryovac bag and you have a huge sous vide cooker! Masterchef eat your heart out!

We added 12 x 3.5kg bags of ice to the pool yesterday for some kid science fun...the ice melted in under 5 seconds!.. then there were little 'cold spots'

Yes..I am going troppo...looking up cheap flights to Tassie right now..

Easterly update----fizzed---lack of back up chants

Sorry forgot to chant when I decided the best option to get wet was swim in the pool.
No cold spots either as I had no ice, so didn't even cool me down....

Its working, I took the raceboard out yesterday afyernoon, expecting a driftfest and was surprised to get a NE that built to 12 kts which then shifted to the SE with a solid 15kts.

BC is looking good on the water. All his secret training is paying dividends

Most excellent work team,
a blustery 20knt easterly has appeared from nowhere here on Sunny Coast, clear your schedules, book a 'long doctors appointment' , ' go see a man about a dog'! ....whatever the excuse, get it while you can!

Great poem Jonesy.

I saw some pressure yesterday, the one time you don't want to see it though. A local system hit us 30km off the tip of Moreton Island in a 21 foot trailer boat. Would have been great on a 4.5 but pretty nasty in the boat. We tried to out run it and raced back to the island but it caught us about five k's out and we got it broadside. I estimate the squalls were coming at 35-40 knots at some points.

You need to capture it next time! bottle it and redistribute in a handier location!

you guys must have been lucky or unlucky to find the storm cell, not fun in a trailer sailor!

I looked back on the charts and the Moreton weather station actually captured the squall. It was so local I didn't think it would. I don't know about the 28knot average? Aside from the storms it was quite tame out there.
