Yes mate at wello the sand spit stops the chop and you get very flat water.

If I can get a leave pass I might wonder down for a look. 6.6 is my smallest so might be marginal if Wind get up. What time will people head down?

One last question, will it still work on a southerly? I see the forecast has changed slightly.

A speed bank would have to work in a southerly? Just go deeper off the wind

Forecast looking more southerly than south west now. Currently blowing 10 knots from the South at Manly.

The BOM forecast isn't very good, why is it so different to seabreeze ?

BOM forecast chart shows local wind. Seabreeze forecast averages the whole area. ie Brisbane.

I'm tossing up between Manly and Wello....???

I still can't see anywhere in Brisbane that will be 23 knots let alone an average of 23 knots ?

We have been getting some massive gusts here at Capalaba but only very short lived - then nothing - I would recon the last one was over 25knots but only lasted about 1 - 2 minutes. Don't know what sails to take for Jaye and I - haven't packed the 8.5 but might need to strap it to the roof

You keep watching the charts and we will go sailing while you think about it . Sailed Wello today had a good sail on 5.7 and was over powered some times.

Sailed east side of wello as wind was SSE. I forgot to take my boom but Simon from BC was kind enough to lend me one. Thanks mate. And thanks Paul for then lend of the up haul. Cheers guys you saved me today

Yep, a great session on my 5.9m and 96L freewave.
Bit up and down but still a great sail.

Fair to say, the 7.8 and 45cm fin was a little bit too much at Manly... went out in a gusty 15knt SSW, then it went more southerly and things got hairy.
