Did I get your attention??
Just wondering if there are any raceboarders (or others) planning to do the pre-season series for the next 2 Saturdays at RQ?

Down at RQ this arvo, had 5 Phantom Raceboards to play with.

Weighed them all and had some interesting results, boards all had centreboards and footstraps and mast bases attached

2016 377L 297 lts 18.3kg This one has campaigned hard for four season, multiple repairs so not surprised it carrying a bit of extra weight probably a bit of water inside plus the repairs may have added weight
2016 377L 297 lts 17.4kg This has campaigned hard for 3 seasons, had a few repairs over that time, has had water inside so pretty happy with the weight
2016 377L 297 lts 17.2kg Appears to have had little use and no repairs
2015 377 267 lts 17.0 kg Little use no repairs I can see
2017 377 267 lts 17.8 kgs Minimal use still in as new condition no repairs, quite surprised with its weight but this board won the 2019 Nationals in light winds so its not slow.

Would be interesting to weight them again without the centreboard, straps and mast base to compare.
I'm quite surprised with the weight of the last one...

That would be interesting but it sounds like far to much work undoing all those footstraps.

I have sign up for pre season racing if any one wants to race.

Saturday was a little bit of a struggle with conditions of consistent railing on the upwind with pumping through the lulls to keep it up and vigorous pumping on the downwind to stay on the plane. Second race was pretty meh. Artificial railing the whole time as well as slow pumping on the downwind.

Looking forward to see more raceboards down there on Saturday!!!

P.S. casual entry for one day is available

RQYS opening day racers enjoyed perfect conditions for the start of the 2019 season.
Some of the action from aboard AUS-187:

It was great to see about 12 boards on the start line for the first race of the RQYS Summer Season despite the blustery westerly winds.

The variability in wind strength and direction made racing interesting at times, increasing the chances of gaining or loosing positions depending on your luck with the wind changes.

The fleet was comprised of Techno295, RS:X, Windfoilers and Raceboards.
The Raceboard numbers appear to have doubled which is great.

Looking forward to more close racing again this season.
Best of luck to all racing this season.
