The new Windsurfer One Design and Long Board sailing date is Saturday 13 September at Bribie Island. Meet at 10am if teh wind is South East at Bongaree, if North East at Sandstone Point. Please invite your friends to come along and join the fun with some great people on the water. Hope to see you out there and remember Peter Nitschke has plenty of WO boards you can use. Won't be able to make it on Saturday (working etc.), but...

I'll be racing at LCSC on Sunday. We had a good turnout last weekend. At one point we had on the lake:

* 1 X Phantom 377
* 2 X Phantom 320s
* 3 X Phantom 295s
* 1 X Wally.

Perhaps I'm missing something...I could use the company of more retro-grouches.

In the meantime, there's course racing on every Sunday at LCSC, with yours truly on a Wally (would love some company) and assorted others chasing each other around (last weekend there were 3 Phantom 295s and a 377 out).

Two races are held each Sunday, 11:00ish and 13:30ish. This Sunday there is a club General Meeting in the morning so both races will be held back to back after 12:30. Oh, and most importantly, the cheapest beers and the best view in Boreen Point at the club bar afterwards.

Yeah, Theresa was on a 295. Wind was up and down a bit, so in sub-planing conditions waterline length has the advantage. All things being equal, the longer raceboards like the 377 will blow the 295 away in all conditions I suppose. In a blow, the gap would narrow I guess once up on the plane. With the smaller board being easier to handle, for a less experienced sailor less time in the drink might bring a better result for that individual.

We have our regular club races at Lake Cootharaba this weekend if anyone wants to join in.
