Thanks for organising this Tony, My kids and I love this regatta, we wouldn't miss it.

Any of those Sandstone/Sunshine coast raceboarders going to come, this regatta is probably the best one to give racing a go. Super friendly club, great location.

We need your participation to keep the Raceboard class going in Qld

I'm planning to be there.
Look's like it might be the "New Model One Design" that will be here soon.
If something goes wrong, maybe the Speed SR250L will be finished.
Been a long time. Should be interesting. Here come's an Old, Fat, (not gay), Wally sailor.

Hi Tony. Any idea of what insurance is required. I sail a dinghy and have insurance from my sailing club throught YA. Will that suffice to race a board? If not can you recommend any. Thanks

From the NOR

10. INSURANCE Each participating boat shall be covered with a third party liability insurance of at least $5 million.

Its available from Nautilus however the Australian Windsurfing Association has a insurance scheme whereby if you join an affliated club you get automatic coverage and get issued a Sail Number. Affliated clubs are listed on the AWA website for Qld the link is below

www.windsurfing.org/qld.htm

Just Note: Silver card Insurance through YA is not public liability insurance so will not suffice

So are there going to be any One Designs going? We've moved to inland northern NSW and we may have to go to Qld to see the in-laws soon. 'Twould be a tragedy if I had to drop Deb off at their house and keep on going to Cootharaba.

Yes mate. Peter and I are going in it for sure with the new LT, and I think Peter D is too.
I'd really like to know how many others are coming with One Designs?
Chris, it's a tough one mate! In-laws, or windsurfing?

Championship time is here.
Nice warm and windy forecast.
This always a casual and friendly regatta, all welcome.
You can come and sail one day only if you can't make it for both days.

Really well organised event. Thank's to all who made it happen.
I'll be there every year now, and I can't wait till the season start's again.
My race board is nearly finished (Speed SR250L), but the Wally will get lots of racing too.
Maybe some more Wally sailors will start joining in when their new boards arrive.
Good to meet some more Windsurfing mad people.

Great to see so many boards on the start line....Looks like you got some great conditions there also...

Would be great to see the QLD BIC Crew at the OZ Youth Nationals 10-14Jan2019.

In NSW we are sending a container from Sydney to Tasi with all the BIC windsurfing gear. Not sure if it helps, but we can always fit in some QLD equipment.
The idea is that everyone can then just fly into Hobart instead of the drive marathon.

Also, hot off the press, is it looks like the Formula, Raceboard and WOD nationals will all be together at Myall Lakes, NSW, 20-24 Jan2019..
It is not official yet, but again the idea is the kids that want to compete can come straight back from Tasi with just their rig and compete.

I know a bunch of the NSW kids will be taking this option up....More details coming soon....

Hi Brett,
How would that one play out mate? ie: Where? and Camping at the event?
I'm chomping at the bit. Would be great to start imagining if the family can come, with budget in mind.
Racing and camping would be great.

The event site caters for everyone and is extremely family friendly.

Huge lake (salt water), with no tide and very safe....high end cabins right through to un-powered camping.
Gated camp site, that is right on the water. really beautiful and excellent windsurfing.

Picked because it is as close to being inbetween Sydney and Brisbane. 3.5hrs north of Sydney, 7.5hrs South for QLD...

Pretty special spot actually...Park your car and forget it for the whole holiday....don't even need to de-rig really...
