Because queens is an easier launch site without a long walk and sand bars at low tide. possibly also due to the perception that there is a larger population of bull sharks and stingrays and the fact that there are usually lots of kites on the eastern side of the bridge.
Looked like fun though

I stayed back and spoke to Dave afterwards, and he was saying that there's a line of rock's that run's from the beach straight out to that float. So I wonder if it continues past there, out to where Brad found some.

While I kite their now I did sailboard their many years ago and yes its a good spot and a bit like Pebble beach at Bribie in some ways but not the clean water. Watch out for the rocks that are about 400m out from the beach and run about 30m north and east of the white marker. Other than the rock their are no real issues and yes their are sharks and rays everywhere. Kiters don't normally kite this area as they have sheep mentality and group together at the other spots along the foreshore.

In this scorcher weather I decided I needed a wet fix and dragged out my PanAm and Severne 8.5 to try out the beach at Brighton near the bridge. So glad I made the effort, and thanks Tony for joining me for a while. I have been playing with boats for too long and it was so nice to feel a board planing (often only just) in about 10 knots of wind. The water was quite flat towards the bridge, and I gave the infamous rocks under the white float a wide berth. Nice to be away from the kites on this stretch of beach, and nice to have a shaded rigging area. I will be back!
