Swat have been training hard, maybe you guys should beg for them to join before you guys get moved further down the list, im told they had secret dinner meetings with some of the mbm guns to build their ranks but they were not hardcore enough for swat.

We're aware of your plans to run off to faster locations, we considered it cheating but then figured we can do the same.

Well I'm glad that some one has come out and said it. 'The Board of Manly so We Sail at Wello Boys' have been killing it of late. Well done. SWAT would have given MBM a nudge but we feel that it would be trying too hard. (Good to see them beaten though)

SWAT would have been up there but the turnout of all members has been poor of late. We may not even post in December.

To answer the rumours whether SWAT has been meeting with 'Guns' from other teams, I will say that these are correct. One MBM has just taken delivery of some Clockw@@d fins to test. Watch this space.

Other rumours that you may have heard, like SWAT starting speed kiting in QLD??? The list goes on.

Rumours of swat speed kiting ...
I can say there definitely not true I saw a member of swat in the creek maxing out at about 25 knots so maybe the quickest kite in brisbane but not speed sailing. BUt he managed not to cut me off even once like a normal kiter which is good .

Speaking to another team they suggested maybe mob should get outta kiddie pool & stop aiming for 2 seconds of fame since qld doesnt get the wind or flat water that others get.

But that would involve sailing out of their depth, maybe some floaties would help?

Well done guys , mark ever since youve changed teams it has been an influence on the team challenge " a true player" but then again it takes a team effort to do so not just the individual and i reakon you guys are now unstopable and a very strong internationaly and most important you guys get along and know what you want when time is needed , i say a good communication in the team!!!!As for SWAT if remo and shaneo stopped continuously double docking maybe they could also be up there and maybe they should explain what double docking is and what it does to your windsurfing!!!! LOL!!!!

ohh yes mark they will need floaties if they step out of there comfort zone meaning sailing in deeper water LOL...

Guys I think this post is a bit harsh.

Don't forget the philosophy of the gpstc. It probably is not constructive to "run down" the achievements of other teams and doesn't really promote the gpstc philosophy of inclusiveness and building relationships.

The philosophy of the Challenge:Inclusiveness: That everyone in the windsurfing community be included from fun and social sailors, to the serious including pro's. Participation: That it is important to participate, to be involved, to develop skills and improve Personal Best Times. Be involved all season, not just summer. Fun: That most importantly we have fun, and however you get it, from stacking it on a 15 knot run, to doing 40+ knots, or just having a beer/burboun/wine with your friends after a session. Building relationships: That we connect people with the same passion, meet new people, create connections intra and inter-state, and generally just build relationships and grow our community.More generally, Windsurfing at speed is also about getting fit, developing skills and technique, we can all learn how to windsurf better, and some elements of GPS mean you want to sail more in order to give yourself a better chance of performing better, so more time on water has multiple benefits.

It's not harsh, it's all been said tongue in cheek, all contributors have a long history with the mob, we sail together with them & speak to them almost every other day. We're all brothers here & like brothers there is friendly rivalry, we give each other a little stick, but we also want to see them succeed- i'd love to see mbm & bcb having a great battle each month & be ranked 1 and 2, they are great sailors & capable of it so why back off in last 2 months?

I don't think they have backed off Mark, however there co-ordination has not been as good as ours, unfortunately there is only Vando & Phil who are willing to try and do good numbers across all six disciplines of GPSTC, the rest only seem interested in 2sec glory, last Friday Phil had a good session, inadequate backup where it was needed, Vando had a great session on Saturday, dejavu. When I joined BCB a few people were upset with me but as I said to them I would like to see 2 Qld teams at the top of the rankings, we don't get conditions up here very often to get 40plus 2secs/5x10s but we have great conditions & sailors to do well in the other 4 columns if we try!

looks like the team with the ex morton bay mob and ex swat team member beat us all , pitty he had to move half way around the world to get the condidtions well done pierre and team

As speed sailing is not in the C.R.A.S.E. charter I will be recruiting for a new GPS speed team. Team "Half Fast".

Things we are looking for in our new "Half Fast" recruits. Speed boat PWC licence. Helicopter pilot licence. Experience in the use of catapults and slingshots.
Some rudimentary windsurfing skills preferred but not mandatory. Navigation software manipulation capabilities a definite plus.

I personnally have enjoyed the challange presented by the rejuvinated BCB team. Long may it last. Friendly rivaly will only benefit both teams. As a consequence of rising to the challenge, over the last 2 months I have increased my PBs for Alpha, 1 Hour and Distance.

Simon 100 i have changed my ex team to the SWAT because i wanted to make a team to challenge other QLD mobs to make it more interesting and yes more competitive within our state and why not for the international challenge also , even when you look at it not many teams pass the 40kts average mark in the world every month!!!

So other disciplines work in your favor , and the BCB have showen that skill to win in all disciplines!!But my other point was is to start a new team and start teaching people who are interested to learn to be more effeciant on the water and knowing how to feel whats right and whats wrong and especially in gear setup in how to rig and why your rig should be setup that away because if you dont understand the fundamentals of it and the theory behind it you will never go forward then you always end up muscling your way through it and that only works to a certain point !!!


Our production sails we get today is not even close to what a majority PWA riders get so its good to know how much can you tune your sail to get it working full on and thats where the theory comes in and really its not that hard to understand but you need patience and time on the water to learn..I always say the field gets equal when everyone knows what there doing , the only reason if one sailor is faster than everyone else most of the time is only due to that sailor is paying attension to what he is doing , thats the only reason , if everyone was paying attension and knowing what to do there shouldnt be a doubt that we should all be equal up there or even faster !!!
I have spoken to Mark alot after the change and he has been helping out certain individuals which are gradually getting better and the results are showing but this is not only for doing speed runs this is for allrounder sailing and good on him for that to try to make the playing field more level as time progresses....
And he certainly doesnt give them stupid ideas on how to go faster on certain gear which is not made for goin faster ...for example "FINS"

My team now that i have , ive been teaching them slowly in what to do , dont forget some learn quicker and some slower !!! And my team mate IGOR is nearly up with me now in speed and overall sailing on the water and he only weighs a mere 75kgs , which i know alot of guys would say thats no good for speed or smashing crosswind runs with a heavier sailor >>>> WRONG<<<...
He has listened to what i have said he understands the theory behind it and he is goin really good a complete different sailor since the first time ive sailed with him but the advantage what he has at the moment is he is young and full of energy so he can hit the hard yards more than i can !!!!All im saying is a team to work needs the team to work together and especially showing your secrets to them of what you know and have learnt and then the playing field gets more interesting and more fun to drive each other , not always sitting on top and thinking im the best , your only the best when others dont know what there doing and you guys should never forget that!!!!!!!!

My team has PB pretty good till now after alot of theory talk and understanding and the best thing i like about them is they want to know more and they want to get better and slowly now they can put 2 and 2 together without asking me knowing they understand the theory behind it ....

I hope this puts out some good vibes and understanding where im coming from and as a newbie or a guy who wants to learn more dont hesitate to ask some of the best guys around because from there you will learn something from the guy who is willing to teach you and make sure they have the certain knowledge behind it otherwise you will be poking in the dark again...

And one more thing i never drive my team for the 2 sec peak , 2 sec means nothing if you want to be effeciant and consistent then pay attension to your 10sec + 250 or 500m run this is a point to see out of these 3 divisions how close can you get your numbers together , meaning not a big gap no matter going upwind crosswind or downwind , this is a really good training schedual to get you up to consistentcy and to start fine tuning your gear to keep the consistency...
