Regular call out to the Elanda and Booreen crew

Who is up for holidays at the lake??

I'll have the usual learner / beginner gear if anybody wants a go.

Expecting to get there on Thursday before Easter - after I recover from Windfest ;-)

Usually a bit crowded over the Easter break (what isn't) still should be plenty of camp sites.

Already had word from Denton and Tim they are there second week.

Talking to Andy he is getting there early

See you there?

Cheers Jeff

Planning to come up for easter with the girls.

Now have a kids rig for Cassie and she is looking forward giving it a go. We may take you up on your generous offer of some beginner gear as I am hoping Ainslie will also be up for a try.

We are in the middle of a bathroom renovation and so I haven't sailed for 3 weeks. Can't wait for Easter!

Looks like I'm not missing too much based on the forecast. Sitting at airport at Victoria Falls Zimbabwe at present waiting for a plane. No plane in sight to board hope the forecast improves for all at the lake.

Hope you made your flight Mal, or a flight anyway.

No wind here to speak of, unless you were brave (crazy) enough to be out amongst the lightning strikes this morning.
Andy did 28 knots during the only gust of the weekend, although I expect that may have been him running across the lake to beat the storm.

Home tomorrow for a few of us, hopefully the hangers on will get some fun later in the week.

Gentle times here at the lake
A relaxing cycle of sitting around in the morning and going out in the afternoon gentle breezes for lightwind gybe and tack practice

Max working on his shortboard skills. Jane practicing the harness. Introducing any newcomers who show an interest.

Sunset Cootharaba ... Ben and Troy first afternoon out with Jane day 2 in the harness

Just back from the lake, had a good time with family and friends. Thanks Jeff for the use of the start and Rio. Boys are sailing it easier than my sup. Both sailing and Jybing ( well turning it off the wind ) with the 2.0 and 2.5 ezzy kids rigs.
They really enjoyed sitting on the nose of the Rio and planning back down wind, they weren't to fussed about the up wind slog. (constantly getting hit with spray in the face ). I will need to get a go pro or similar.
They also liked sailing on the lakes laser look a like or what ever it is. It was a bit crowded for the three of us but in the end they were on the rudder and mainsheet and I was just ballast. It was good to be able to explain a bit about sailing with out having to yell instructions at them. No idea how much they retained but they can explain the difference between a tack and Jybe.
