Freshwater sailing? Something different? Head on up to Lake Baroon up near Maleny on December 1 for some very chill fun on the water and a casual barbecue. We will set up about 11, get some boards rigged, hide the snags from the kookaburras and get out there! If you have a longboard bring it, or there will be a few to sail there belonging to club members. Lake Baroon is fun albeit gusty in a SE or NE with some good runs to be had! Pack a floaty shortboard just in case.
On the Maleny side of the lake there's a good rigging area and a ramp plus shade and barbecues. SEQ Water encourage buoyancy vests ( as do we). Petrol engined craft are not permitted on the lake.
There's a FaceBook event in Windwanderers if you're interested and free registration is on the Windwanderers website-
Baroon Big Board Bash and BBQ - WindWanderers Inc - revolutioniseSPORT
Hi everyone just a reminder that we will be setting up for some chill longboard sailing and a BBQ at Lake Baroon (near Maleny) on the 1st of December from 11am.
Come and enjoy some longboard cruising (bring your own big board if you have one!), have a yard and enjoy a Maleny snag or three!
More formal details on the WindWanderers site.
I am good to be there on Sunday, who's bringing the wind
Fingers crossed!
Steve Charles, myself and our partners are heading up from Brisbane. We look forward to meeting up with a few sunny coast sailors, and have a crack on the lake
