Would going out tomorrow in Botany mean sailing in feces and other fun stuff due to the heavy rain?

I got 2 hours full tilt on a 4.7 at Wollumboola this morning before going to work. It's by far my favorite flatwater destination.

4.7..wut, bit lighter down there? It's been a minimum average of about 30+kts for the last 36hrs here in the going. Basically all day today it was bang on 35-48kts, hour after hour...just solid...all day, crazy. Considered sailing, went and had a look at the surf, reconsidered! The amount of sand that has blown up from south beach onto foreshore drive is ridiculous.

Surely some mad bastard had a crack at Windang yesterday before the surf went full retard?

4.7 was good at 7am this morning...It got more hectic as the day went on. Looking at all the graphs though it did get in more the further north you went.

got a sail yesterday. Makaha was only 3-4ft, couldn't work that out. Was good except for the rain squalls.

Today a total write off. 2-3 metres ++ but some of the most consistently strong wind I've seen for years.

Even the harbour was 40 knots. Botany..? Maybe a 3.5m.

Chris it seams that the way the coast line is structured the full front of the southerly is off pt perp , cullburra is a bit sheltered so is 5knts less than balambi or botany, if your your looking like getting hammered in a southerly , further south mite be an option

Al I sailed in Newcastle on the lake with 2 other guys, wind metres were reading around 50kts in the gusts, I was on my 3.7 S1 and 84 chopper, I'm like 98kgs after a lazy no sailing east coast summer, couldn't sheet in on one run, rain way to brutal so we bailed after a few runs.

I'm in the Hunter Valley.
It was too dangerous to drive.
I had an appointment in Newcastle.I managed to get out down the 2'deep river that is our 2kms of gravel lane then played dodgem cars with fallen branches for 1km .After seeing a large branch fall down next to me I decided to go home where it was safe. The road was probably cut from trees or water anyway..300mm rain + 40-70kt winds.
Went down the road a few days later and heaps of trees had been cut and pulled off but still heaps of wet leaves & debri- dangerous motorcycle conditions..- it's a popular bike haunt..
A few of the locals tried at Budgy Lake where it is pretty flat and sheltered and couldn't sheet in and came in after 100m ..Doesn't sound like my 3.2m would have helped me at 65kgs..
