Having been in that area fishing in a 15kt sw, it gets pretty bumpy. I don't think the shallows on the sth dries at low tide. Always worth an exploratory though.

If you have a boat, then _everywhere_ is worth a trip !

Daffy organised a troop of us, where we hired a fishing boat - sailed the north-westerly side of French Island ... which is my avatar pic.
We coined it Daffy's run, since he did all the leg work to organise the boat.

The spot we sailed is called the Eastern Channel on the charts. Unfortunately, the banks only seem to come well out and dry in a big high pressure and that means Easterly winds which are off the island and the wrong angle. The ideal angle to sail it is NW. Thses winds are common and strong, but even though it was one of the lowest tides of the year when we checked it out, The bank was still 20cm under water on the channel edge. It was a good try and a great adventure, but I dont think it really has much potential. We looked at the other channel above at the time and I think it is even less likely to have a sand edge on the south, even on the lowest tides There is possibly a dry bank on the top left of the bend in the line on the map, but I fear it would be subject to rolling chop on a Nor' Wester at the ideal angle.
