OK, There's no reason to have a min speed with the GT31, it's got heaps of memory, you don't need to save it. I'm still windsurfing at 5kts. That's just robbing yourself of grovel distance. But that's not your problem.
Memory Card
File size, 512kb is definitely wrong. it should be "card size"
512kb will cause a new file to be created as soon as you've saved 512kb. If you check the card again, you'll probably see multiple files for the session, if you join those files together you should get the whole session.
NMEA items should only have SBN highlighted.
External power mode, I have off, with it on, the unit turns on every time you charge the battery, no big deal.
You could turn the blue tooth stuff off, that's just using battery unnecessarily.
