Does sound promising! I'd never have thought ...

BTW sorry to hijack but about 20 years ago they were trying to synthesise spider web threads as strength to weight was phenomenal. Does anyone know how it went? I gather no good otherwise we'd be sailing on boards made from it by now. Wondering if the project continues and/or shows promise

Isn't that "aramid fibre" ie kevlar?
No sorry getting confused with "arachnids"

The comments after that article throw a bit of a dampener on it. We'll have to wait for validated performance specs I think.
