I was reading in a recent Tracks that Scotty O'Connor owns Namotu Island in Fiji. I wonder what some of the other Aussie pioneers are doing. And how do you end up owning an island in Fiji? Was pro windsurfing that lucrative in the 80s?

Scott was the agent for North Sails and Tyronsea (amongst other things) in the late 80s, when his level of competition was less serious. Maybe he made a few bucks from that.

I believe he owns the island with Mike Waltze, another 1980s windsurf legend from the US.

Mark Paul has a business called "Green Wall" which specialises in wall gardens etc. His web background looks like the artwork from the Bombora South Pacific.

There was a thread that covered all of the famous names a few months ago, can't find it.
Thought we had all of those sailors and more in that thread.
Someone ?

(Yes, Susan Gedayloo, cancer, 1989 I seem to recall. Too bad.)

Reading that thread and the big question is "what ever happened to Stewie?"

Thinking the same thing. He always could tell a good yarn about women and the fish and chip shop.
