whats the go with winter

Are there any good winds in winter ,west or east coast,what do you look for.do the south west storm winds rate on the west coast, or are they to inconsistent and unpredictable.cheers legends.

Ummmm,.. I think you missed it by 3 or 4 months.
Never mind. It will be back next year,, unless this global warming thingy speeds up a bit..

if on the east coast, go far north for the trades

The Illawarra region on the east coast is awesome for winter sailing, Westerlies and southerlies being the dominant wind direction at that time of the year. Within an hours drive I have wave, B&J and flatwater (speed) covered, It doesn't get much better in winter then the Illawarra.

If you go to north Queensland it generally blows 25-35 knots every single day throughout winter. Oh and there's that big fandangle Reef which is ok to sail on :-)
