MOAR CAMERAS!

Although I don't own a camera I personally hope GoPro as an independent brand dreamed up by some guy who loves surfing continues to hold the market. But it's going to get tough with all the big boys starting to weigh in now.

As someone considering getting a waterproof video camera for sailing (and other stuff), I wonder what the advanges over the popular GoPro range is? No need for a housing? Smaller maybe? Better quality footage? Dunno... I do know it takes some great pics! I'd be more than happy to trial one free Mr JVC

Looks like JVC are at least a generation and a half behind... this thing has a 5M pixel LCS, while the GP Hero2 has an 11M pixel. GP has a 3D mode.

And the GP has good after-market add-ons, eg: the sealantern diving lens.

Not having a case is a bit of a negative. I love the design of the GoPro case. It does exactly what it has to. So the camera stays perfectly dry and protected. A camera without a case would likely to be banged up and salt encrusted over time.

This JVC camera does appear to have many features and could be used as a normal camera or camcorder, something the GoPro is not designed to do.

We'll have to raise Graham Kennedy from the dead and get him to endorse it Shane. "well don't just stand there like <blah blah blah blah blah>, stick it in the old JVC VCR !"
