I don't know what the council are thinking. It will be good to see how it looks when completed, but looking at the sign there, I am not so sure. During the week, a lot of people turn up there, pull up the car and watch the ocean. So what do council do, they build a boat wash section at that point and put the car parking back away from the beach where you can see nothing. Why a boat wash section in the best view point?

I can understand them trying to protect the foreshore, and I think providing walkways to the beach is a good way to do it, but why do I just know that the walkways will be narrow and made of something difficult to walk on without being able to see it while holding a rigged sail.

I sound pessimistic, but I am not sure they thought too much about this development, other than 'it will look new'. I am not even sure they needed to change anything, as I have only seen the carpark full when there has been an organised event. I think the best thing about that place was that there were not that many people there and it was quiet.

Responsible jet skiers? I remember the ones that drive onto the beach to launch their jetskis and chew up the grass. I hope they now use the boatramp.

I think I am a bit negative because the same council have 'upgraded' the local shopping area and in doing so reduced parking, made it look pretty, but also made it less useful. They also ran way over time and the local shops are hurting. Sometimes "old" is perfectly fine and doesn't need changing.

What do you mean by more boat ramps? Where are the others? What area are they stealing to do this?

I hope you are right. Hopefully they leave the area where the kits rig up alone. At least that has good access.

Looking at the diagrams on the council website, they show the access paths, and they look to be a few metres wide, if they are to scale. If they put up spiked fences on each side, it will be a PITA, but if they have low fences, not so bad.

Guess which one I am betting on?

Maybe this council are more intellegent & consider other water users like us.look what Rockdale council did to the third carpark kymeegh with those silly pathways and heres the kicker they could of made the walkway straight to the beach.

That's what I am worried about. I think they asked for submissions before about changing things at Kurnell. Windsurfers and kiters are only a minority of people, but we aren't that visible as we only seem to be out when others are sitting inside because its too windy. If they don't know about us, they will build a ramp that's incompatible with our gear.

I get worried when people get too concerned about breeding birds and forget that without people, who would see them. There are heaps of natural areas around Kurnell, so why are they trying to turn everything into a bird sanctuary. Sort of off topic, but I think that was one of their plans at one stage.

I learned how to windsurf at Kurnell one winter, and you always get people pulling up to eat their lunch and watch the ocean, and then taking off. I think half the attraction to the place was that it was relatively undeveloped.

Just to go even further off topic, a year or so back they had the set to 'Wolverine'? Built there. Something meant to look like a Japanese PoW camp. It was sort of cool walking the dog around there and seeing this buildings.
