fin question

I am pretty new to the sport and currently have a starboard start...its about 100cm wide....what would happen if i put 70cm fin on it..

I think a fin that size would work . The go is a wide big board it needs a fin that big to get it planing. I use to have one with a 50cm fin it serve its purpose ! Happy sailing.'jh

You would have fun on it......I used to use a 65cm fin in my wifes start I had some great fun on it,

I use a 66cm in the same board with a 7.8 race sail. Goes well.

Add an 8m sail, and you'll be doing 20 knots in 15 knots winds.
That's what I do....and it will feel like steering a tanker

Thanx alot for the replys...i went the 50cm for now then might upgrade later down the track....i did also get 6.6m and 7.5m sails and a 460 mast so i will be set for a while
