Surf races are a great way to get high speed action in front of the general public.
The corporate box seats would be on the deck of the surf club! Cold beers on tap watching the action from high above.

Surf slalom is fantastic fun. Robby reckoned that the '86 (?) Sony's surf slalom was the best he'd ever done. Big waves, with the outside marks on one of the bommies, if I recall correctly. As soon as they went to flat water slalom I lost interest, tbh.
