Hi, I'm heading to Barcelona for a few weeks, does anyone know the good windurfing spots in the area?

was going to say that... South of Barcelona right down to Algeciras gets very little wind during summer. There are the odd winter storms but nothing reliable.

Very different story north of Barcelona. Rosas gets wind throughout the year. It's very strong Tramontana in Winter and Spring and less strong thermal winds during summer.

A bit further north across the border in France there are a few wave spots as well as the Etangs (Leucate etc.). These are salt water lakes that make for some good bump and jump sailing. The main wind here is called Tramontane... essentially the same wind as the Tramontana in Rosas. There are some good and cheap Oysters around this area.

Remember to look after your gear! I have had my car broken into twice just north of Barcelona and once in the South of France. So get insurance and don't leave valuables lying around. If there is guarded parking it's worth paying the money.
