Gives new meaning to the term; Internal Investigation...

LISBON: Portugal's Olympic committee has banned a female windsurfer for life for concealing her pregnancy so she could compete in the London Games.

Despite being selected for the 2012 Olympics, Carolina Borges failed to turn up for the opening round of competition off the coast of southern England.

She emailed a Portuguese Olympic official at the time, saying she couldn't compete because of illness and personal matters. Medical personnel were unable to contact her to confirm her story and her accreditation was subsequently cancelled.

The national Olympic committee said on Tuesday that, after an internal investigation, it has barred her from competing again for Portugal because she didn't inform authorities she was pregnant.

Ummmmmmm...sounds more like she was banned 'cos she failed to turn up for her event (which could have gone to someone else who presumably missed out on an Olympic spot) and lied about the reason.

She was banned because she didnt reveal she was pregnant until after she took her free trip to London, even though she was aware of it beforehand, and had no intention of competing.

So 1) She took a spot that somebody else MAY have been able to use
2) Used it as a free trip to London to watch her huisband compete even though she knew she wouldnt be competing
3) Didnt tell her governing body (even though she was contractually obliged to do so) until the last minute that she wouldnt be competing.

Sounds fair to me. Not competing may have been in the best interest of her and her babies health, but it appears the investigation found she deliberately hid her pregnancy until after she got her free trip.

It is quite known practise that in old Eastern Germany female athletics intentionally get pregnant before event. Swimmers, runners, weight lifters ( I don't think acrobats and boxers)
Semen is natural potent stimulant ( you could read it doping) , who knows how legal or not it should be....
To be absolutely in clear whole sex should be banned as no doubt external steroids enhance performance.
In such case only protected sex should be allowed amongst this athletics
If revealed one day that Lance Armstrong was a guy on top of doping scandal, that means double cheater

well ,well, well....
now imagine that you have male athletes sent to compete and in the night before event he spent all the time in the pub drinking heavily.
now his is not able to compete
will fill all your criteria above 1,2,3
Will be also banned forever ???
I can see our AFL league suddenly emptied
