Thumbs Up

Hi Guys,
Been lurking here a while and thought Id better say hello
Quit windsurfing about 20 years ago, and since then have been getting back into a few midlife crisis sports... lots of skateboarding, and recently found a nice YPSI.

Ive spent hours searching the net to get info on how the original mast foot works, and finally got mine disassembled without damage. Exploded pic below... in case it is of future use to anyone.

It seems that the large bolt head has stripped the black plastic insert (hence turning the knob does not engage the crushing of the rubber dooberlackie. Has anyone ever repaired on of these?

Im think lots of araldite around the bolt head to hold it in place

Is there a better way

Im hoping to fix this and not have to resort to building a new base

Peace,
Ivan

hi 97mg if that is your real name.

yes the hex head has stripped the clam housing because the orange rubber went hard with time(it used to be really soft and suction held it in place)

either epoxy the whole base into the board or screw a modern baseplate onto the base housing of the board and turf that old stuff into the recycling bin.

you could also call me on 0755313199 for other alternatives, cheers ian.
