Anyone in coffs harbour area that has a 2 bolt clasic cup mast base to sell or loan over the weekend?

I purchased a new sail/SDM Mast/extension on monday with view to using new sail on weekend, after sending photos of my mast base, received items on wednesday only to find mast base doesn't fit extension. i have classic cup with one large release button but need two bolt release style.

Very pissed I can tell you.

Anyway, hoping to buy or borrow, steal one for weekend if you can help that would be grand

I wouldnt stress too much, its gunna be pouring rain all weekend (till Tues) and no wind forcasted till after the weekend.
Indoor sports weekend will be the only option

You don't want to partake in any indoor 'sports' with lotofwind, and if heshe suggests watersports outside I would avoid that as well. I am pretty sure heshe will be patrolling the beaches this weekend with a large transvestite dog protecting kite noobs from themselves.

Which bit do you need ?

The plate that goes in the board or the cup and UJ / tendon that goes in the extension one end and the deck plate the other ?

I have a cup and tendon you can have, and a spare plate you could borrow. Both are same as the first picture here :

But I think the chance of wind before late Monday / Tuesday is very very low.

PM me (but I don't get out of bed until gone 9 am on Saturdays).

I guess i need the whole bit - i have two mast bases - unless can they be separated so that the bit that screws onto the board can join with the bit that goes into the extension?

Sunday is looking pretty good - i don't care about rain.

Yes it is rather ironic

Not where I live - I would need to drive 5 ish hours to the nearest shop. The problem was i ordered gear and needed a new mast extension - I emailed a photo of the mast base but the shop accidently sent wrong extension to suit. I rang them on wednesday but the new part didn't arrive in time for me to try my new sail this weekend - hence the desperation

I should add - Carantoc has come to the rescue and offered to supply the required part - 3 cheers to him.

There used to be a windsurfing shop in Coffs Harbour. In fact I remember two different shops. One in the mid eighties close to where Pizza Hut used to be in the town centre. Second was operating out of a garage attached to a service station at Park Beach in the early nineties. The windsurfing shop was a sideline to the owner's job. Both are gone due to lack of business. They went long before the Internet became what it is now.

No windsurfing shop in Coffs Harbour could survive based on the number of windsurfers there. Its impossible. The turnover would be negligable. The only way a shop could survive there would be to be mainly an online business with most of the clientel out of the area. However even that business is extremely tough.

You are right^^^^^^ they would have no chance of survival with only 2 dancers in the area,,,,,,if you can count carantoc that is,,,
no one has seen him in the water for months.
If it wasnt for his seabreeze posts, we would be checking the funeral pages in the local paper to see if he was still around.

Yes but with the local heavey rain there will be no wind,,,trust carantoc's local forcast

He might not like to get wet once the air temp. is below 26c (why he hibernates for all but 3 months of the year) because his old bones ache,,,, but he knows there will be no wind.

Coffs has no good spots to sail anyways..... shhhhhhhhhhhhh
