I have just got a 2012 Futura 131, its a grate board but i am having trouble with my front foot. It feels like the front strap is to far away and so i cant push on my front foot.
I am using a 8.6 Severne turbo, have the front strap as far back as it can. What is going on. Is it setup or me.
I have the same problem with my 107 carbon but not as bad.
please help
It's a setup situation which requires some tuning over time. Could be a combination of things.....try....
Ask some other sailors there opinions.
Move your back footstraps all the way forward and see if there's any front foot pressure.
Lower your boom height lower again moves pressure towards your front foot.
It could be that you've set your sail to flat through to much outhaul and or to much downhaul.
It's a centre of effort issue which includes many variables. Try one thing at a time.
Have fun:-)

Is your clew dragging in the water at times when you are planing?
Where is your back strap located?
How high is your boom?
Hi Magnus8,
No the clew isn't dragging in the water and the back strap is in it's most forward setting, the boom 170cm{just above my shoulders}.
I have never encounter this till getting Startboards, not saying its the board.
Thanks for your help.
check these tuning tips, should show you if something is definitely wrong:

Had the same problem with all Starboards so I switched brands. Try Toms mod on the Mt Best site if after changing everything you still carn,t get it right. Works very well without drilling that extra hole
Thanks all i think ill try more setups and if im still not comfortable i think ill make some strap bars to move them back a little.

Sounds like your harness lines are in the right spot then.
Place your mast base in the center position on the 107 and 133 as indicated on each board.
Plug in your sail and bring together with your board on land.
You will most likely notice that the boom goes way past the back of the board.
Now adjust so that the gap is no bigger than 2 fingers wide.
Then go sailing, enjoy.
Definitely move the back strap back, even all the way back. It will bring the nose up and bring the front strap closer to your foot, which equals front foot pressure. Also max downhaul the sail for reduced mast foot pressure, this gives the same result. Then if it gets too flighty, drop the boom a cm or too. Weed fin or pointer?
I have been in the garage looking at rigs on boards and mast placement. Have also moved the back strap all the way back. Tomorrow i will see the outcome and let you know.
Froude in using a 46 pointer
Thanks for the help everybody. ![]()
I think its most likely you just need to drop the boom and set the mast base a bit more forward, I have had the same front foot issue with other brands and solved it with a couple of these adjustments.
Jas71, I experienced the exact issue's with my previous futura111 and isonic107. Strangely, less so with the Isonic like you but still to some degree. I found lowering the boom made the largest improvement. It does sound like you have your boom high - I know I did and was reluctant to bring mine down. I would try that first and see how it goes. I also adjusted my rear strap centre holes and front furthest back, all out board of course. Slightly narrower spacing felt better for me.
Went out today, i had moved my back strap right back and got longed harness lines and it was much better thanks for all the help
