Who on Seabreeze does not care who is in the grand final of whatever game involving chasing a ball around a field?

As a Collingwood supporter...I'm not sure if I want to see them there either!

I know that I risk having my remaining 3 teeth knocked out for saying that, or my teenage daughter's grandson bullied at the local daycare centre whilst she tries to make an honest living walking the streets...I even fear that my on-site caravan (including annexe & 3 kingswood car bodies hiding amongst the 3ft high front lawn) vandalised, but I have concerns that the wobbles will come upon the boys & that I will have wasted a whole day's dole-money on a slab of top-shelf jimbeam cans on a day where I would've been better off drowning my sorrows on the goon bag!

I think you're being a bit Xtreme about the whole thing. Two birds will be there!
Let's hope one is black & white

All the birds worth paying attention to will be in lycra and handing out coupons for beer and Holdens

Most of the country could not care less, as it is still treated as being the VFL

Is Grand Final Day that one day of the year when there's no traffic on the road, the beach is deserted, it's often windy and you get the whole place to yourself?

Too true Mikey
My tale of woe....

Wedding day set for October Long weekend 2 years ago - weekend before on the couch watching Pies V Saints - as the game draws to a close the realisation that the replayed GF is going to be on the wedding day......

Not being a supporter of either side you would think I wouldnt care......but the GF is always a bittersweet day regardless of who plays....it marks the end watching listening to another year of footy with players rising and others fading and the realisation that your team isnt in the GF (and they probably wont be next year either) and that its over for another year and you will miss it.....this is juxtaposed with the elation of watching a (usually) great game that befits the title Grand...

So back to the game ... with a few seconds left I realise I am not watching the GF with a beer calling for the ump to get some eyes or for the Pies Fans to not remove their last brain cell...I turned to the bride ....."well it looks like we will have to postpone the wedding then".........I dont remember much after that....my kids told me Mum didnt think it was funny at all......I was nursing my groin... then the phone rings "mate.... what are we going to do.......

As a Tigers fan its always hard at this time of year - but go Swans

Until all of those places are suddenly filled with drunk bogans in the late afternoon as they spill out of pubs and parties.

No, I am just pointing out that totally inconsistent with a sporting match/game, it is more an excuse to get smashed. Whether win or lose, or whether your team is playing or not, the AFL grand final is just another excuse for a lot of blokes to behave like fkheads.
Ask the ED workers/ambos/cops/firies etc what they think of GF day.

Pretty sad.

Sail in the morning and watch the footy in the arvo That's what i did last year!

I don't think its all about the footy, its a good excuse to catch up with family and friends and have a few quiet beers

I'm usually buggered by that time... and am back home for a few cold painkillers myself.

I love Grand Final Day- it's the best day of the year to do anything other than watching football.

I can't argue with that - but the same goes for the following full moons, Anzac day ( seriously I find the pi..heads on this day annoying - nil respect for our past and present troops), Easter, Xmas, australia day etc

Mmmm ... Footy is not your thing.....ok
