Hi all,

As some of you may know, two of our fellow windsurfer from NSW (Guillaume and Sebastien) are currently participating in the Sydney to Hobart race. They are aboard the Peugeot-Surfrider boat.

Apart from doing well in the final ranking (they are currently first in their division with a bit more than 24hours to go!!), their main objective is to raise awareness for ocean protection. They have therefore partnered with Surfrider Foundation Australia, an association dedicated to the protection of our shores and waves. Their goal is to enable Surfrider Foundation to raise money through their participation in the race.

To date they've raised a bit more than AUD 4,400 and they have an objective of AUD 10,000. If you have a few spare dollars after Christmas and wish to use them for a great cause, any donation to their project/Surfrider would be a bright investment for our environment and the sport we love!

Any donation above 2dolls is Tax Deductible.

For more information on their project, their website is www.protectourplayground.org/ and you can follow them on rolexsydneyhobart.com/ or www.facebook.com/ThePOPteam .

Thanks a lot for your support!

Cheers,

Francois

Hi Mobydisc,

The money raised helps Surfrider Foundations for their various campaigns ; the two main ones being Rise Above Plastic (main mission being to raise awareness on the dangers of Plastic pollution) and Endangered Waves (helping local communities when their coastal environment is threatened by costal developments, polluted water, accessibility, etc.). The following link summarizes some of their successful campaigns over the past 20 years by supporting locals. http://www.surfrider.org.au/campaigns/saved-waves/
