i couldn't agree more with your comments re wood versus carbon. i've been riding wood boards for about 10 years now and love the feel on the water and the wear factor.

It is interesting how noticeable the difference in feel between the constructions is. Many would possibly believe that only a pro would really notice the difference, but in a side by side comparison it was really evident just how stiff the carbon boards are. Wood just made everything feel a little dampened, which I find perfect for wave riding. But just like anything, everyone has their own preference.
