Thumbs Up

have a 5m RS Racing that always seemed too powerful and limited in it's range.
It felt like they stamped the sail with a 5.0 instead of a 6.0m.Checked all the sizes and measurements and yes it is actually a 5.0m.
So I asked previously in the forum if anyone had tried to rig said racing sails on skinnies before. Most advice is to stick with the SDM x9 masts which of course is very good, but I have rigged the sail up a few times and all looks good apart from the bottom cam not firm against the mast.
I rigged with more out haul to compensate for extra distance gained by the smaller diameter mast. Also slightly less down haul than usual. Felt like my other NP RSR sails in their correct range.
I tried it on the weekend and WOW it makes the sail much softer in overpowering conditions and had no adverse effects. The cams and battens rotated so easily it was truly fantastic.
I have used NP RS sails for a long time and tried trimming the 5m and it was hard to sail with until the use a NP x Combat 90% RDM.
Anyone who tries it could be pleasantly surprised of the effect.
When it is in the lower range I rig on the SDM and up range overpowered I can use the RDM.
Comments welcome!!!
Happy chappy from the weekend.
