If the race goes ahead (fingers crossed for wind)

how are racers supposed to get 36 - 42 cm (or larger if its really light) race fins over the inside reef bank at the proposed new finish line at the park ?

Its about 20 cm deep for about 200meters off the beach
... especially at the 2pm mid tide when the racers will be coming in.

How about old school freestyle and sailing fin first, weighing the board's nose to get the fin out of the water?

The organizers should build us a 200 mtr platoon with roller wheels with fin cavity to finish the race because most will be using tall fins.

This was no problem at all today - you could sail race gear all the way to the beach.

There is an unwanted dredge digging holes in the sandbar at Safety Bay, maybe we could drag that up there

43C or 44C just heard on the radio forecast for Saturday. 39C for Sunday, with a strong seabreeze forecast. Sunday 3-4 pm start sounds about right.

Are you going to put all of your training from Melville Beach to good use Peter, and have a crack at the race?

Sunday is looking good with a 15-25 knot forecast for Lancelin, according to the graph on seabreeze.

Might sail if held on Sunday, but i will need to find my alarm clock with the race being run way too early.

I don't think anyone is considering Sunday for the race? Or was it considered?
BTW, seems to be improving (willyweather)

The windsurfers and kiters should all race on the same day, what a blood bath!!!

I can picture it now.

Noob kiters stacking it, getting arms and legs cut off run over by Mark Australia. Kiters jumping over sailers (and cray boats) to avoid impacts. Windsurfers getting cloth lined, getting decapatated.

It would be a spectacle worth watching.
