I BROUGHT A GOPRO COPY FOR 50 BUCKS FROM K-MART A WHILE AGO. IT IS AWESOME RECORDS HD VIDS AND TAKES PICS. WHY PAY $400? $50 SOUNDS BETTER TO ME...YOU HAVE TO BUY A MICRO MEMORY CARD THATS IT. THE GOPRO COPY COMES WITH WRIST STRAP, HELMET HOLDER, CAR WINDSCREEN HOLDER, SOOO AWESOME...
IM TAKEN THIS TO THE KING OF THE BAY WINDSURFING EVENT AND IM GOING TO STICK THIS UNDER MY CAMERA WITH A OPTIC ZOOM. SO THAT WAY I CAN HAVE BOTH RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME. THIS TAKES AWESOME WIDE VIDEOS...THE VIDEO RECORDING IS SO CLEAR. SO IT LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE A CAMERA DUDE FOR THE EVENT..UNLESS SOME ONE HAS A SPARE 5.0 SITTING AROUND...
This was taken (previously posted on Seabreeze so apologies) on a waterproof sports camera from Target at $50. Keeps me happy at this stage.
^^^ Is that some sort of 'anti shake' post processing filter? It makes it extremely hard to watch, got any video without it or is it ridiculously shaky? For $50 though, can't complain haha.
definitely cant complain for $50 well worth it. Does it come with a water proof casing or is that separate?
Agree that the value is great, and that the video sharpness is very high. Agree with others that the main problem is that black frame thing that is shaking on the top and bottom. But nonetheless the video tells a great story!
Just curious....does it record sound?
Is all enclosed with a soft plastic plug that you take off to plug in the cable to connect to your computer or recharge. Comes with a mounting bracket which I can use on my boom, but I use a strap to put it on a helmet.
Found this one on ebay and it looks identical but at a lot more $$$'s (not $50).http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Waterproof-RD32-Sport-Camera-720P-HD-with-5-MegaP-Image-Sensor-underwater-diving-/321079637316?pt=AU_Digital_Cameras&hash=item4ac1d67544
Yes it records sound and does still photo's as well.
Cheers
Goldcoastmoz - it's the same as in the link I made to Ebay, but mine has a brand on the side that says "base". Same colour and specs.
Also as IKW says, its a Youtube feature to minimise the shake. I had it on my helmet and was a bumpy day and probably not a good mount to start with. But I'm happy with the camera - for now anyway to start and experiment with.
Cheers Greg
Been susing them out today on line and at the shops. I will get one to experiment with before I spend the $$$ on the Go-pro or contour.
