yep, really bad.
so far the cameras are fixed on GBR sailors mid field.
they refer to GB sailors by name and those from other countries as "the New Zealanders, the Dane etc...".
the only news of RSX was to say "the Dutch sailor won", no pictures, no-one else mentioned.
hope coverage improves.

I'm not complaining about the coverage of the sailing. The actual footage is fantastic and the racing is great. Remember the feed is from BBC, so no surprise they know the local racers especially Ben Ainsle.

RSX only started yesterday and I believe they were on the other course. There are a lot of classes to cover, and I'm sure the RSX will be covered as the GBR guy is one of the top seeds.

FYI, watching the Finns and 49ers sailing downwind in 20knots is pretty spectacular and easily more exciting than 90% of the other sports on FOX. Just goes to show, our sport has tremendous media potential as technology improves and cost of coverage drops.
Great to see such large spectator numbers for a sport that is way out to sea, I imagine they have large screens on shore to watch?

They have been selling out the main vantage point the " Nothe" ? around 4000 pepole each day, thay also have the Big screen positioned their as well. I think this is the course that the medal races will be sailed on as well

Brett I want to see the stars all the dingies and the rsx i know the coverage is from the bbc thats the problem . Do they broadcast the swimming in the US or UK with Ray Hadley doing the comentary . Its pay tv not free to air a more balanced commentery no matter what country is needed . Foxtel needs to lift their game or because its sailing it doesnt matter as much

We in the UK are disgusted at the RSX coverage. They were flicking between the Finn and other classes talking lots about each one but not a mention about the RSX. I was on the water a mile away at the time and there were at least 2 helis in the air, plenty of big boats with cameras and there was no reason they couldnt film the RSX....or at least even give a bit of commentary about it.

I assumed they would show it later.....even in the summary round up they did not even mention Nick or Bryony (GB medal hopes) place or results which were a damn site better than half the other GB sports results. I know a lot of people have complained. On the up side I made it onto the coverage in the background :-D

The Nothe course is a lot more sheltered than the other courses as well. They are competing there today, winds should be increasing as they start at midday here.

What coverage? I don't have digital TV or insomnia so I guess I won't see much....
